A bed for creating better relationships

53 Art Museum, Guangzhou, China, March 2012

Wood, Fabric, Wool

When I participated in a group exhibition in Japan in 2008, I had to share accommodations with several other artists. But when I woke in the morning, I was sleeping alone in the room. The other artists couldn't cope with my terrible snoring. Even though there were only a limited number of rooms, I became the only artist who was allowed to use a private room, unfairly. At this time many artist shared accommodation together for the exhibition in 53 Art Museum and developed relationships through cultural exchange. This was also a very important concept of the exhibition. I have since struggled to remove the obstacle to making better relationships by dealing with the problem of my snoring.
