A bed for creating better relationships

53 Art Museum, Guangzhou, China, March 2012

Wood, Fabric, Wool

When I participated in a group exhibition in Japan in 2008, I shared my accommodationwith several other artists, when I woke in the morning; I found I wassleeping alone in the room. The other artists had left, as theycouldn't cope with my terrible snoring. Even though there were a limited number of rooms, I became the only artist who was allowed to have a private room, unfairly. At this time, many artist shared accommodation forthe exhibition in 53 Art Museum and developed relationships through cultural exchange and was a veryimportant concept of the exhibition. I have since struggled to remove the obstacle to making better relationships by dealing with my problem snoring.
